Media Center
George W. Munroe Elementary School's Media Center plays a key role in helping the school to fulfill its goal. The media center's mission is to ensure that the students and staff become effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in many formats, by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading and actively involving students, teachers, administration, parents, and the community at large.
Media Center Rules, Policies, and Procedures
1. No eating or drinking are allowed in the Media Center
2. Students in grades 2nd and 3rd are allowed to check out books on their appropriate reading level
3.Students must use their inside voices in the Media Center at all times.
4.Students assume full responsibility for materials checked out from the Media Center
5.Students are to be seated and dismissed only when addressed by the Media Specialist and/or staff
6. Students are allowed to check out books only after their table has been called
7.Students who arrive to the Media Center late must present a pass
8.Cell phone use is not allowed in the Media Center
9.Students are allowed to checkout books for a period of 1 week
10.Students are allowed to renew chapters books once
11.Reference books must remain in the Media Center
